|The Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad (CASA) — a collaborative educational initiative of Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, and the University of Pennsylvania — seeks a Center Director for its newly launched CASA Divisional Center in Havana, Cuba. The program will run throughout the academic year, enrolling students from Consortium member universities in classes at the University of Havana and at Casa de Las Americas.
The Center Director position is a full-time, twelve month position residing in Cuba, with overall responsibility for the management of the CASA Divisional Center in Havana. The Center Director will maintain a continuous academic and administrative presence in Havana on behalf of the Consortium. Responsibilities of the position include management of day-to-day operations, serving as a liaison with higher education, research and cultural institutions in Cuba, supervision of the office staff, and organization of student services. In addition, the Center Director provides academic advising and support to enrolled students, coordinating such activities with partner institution colleagues in Havana. The Center Director coordinates the delivery of a prescribed program of academic courses program courses at its center, and works closely with faculty and administrative colleagues from the University of Havana to directly enroll students in University of Havana courses.

|This position requires a graduate degree, (Ph.D. preferred), and fluency in both Spanish and English. In addition, it requires a working knowledge of both American and Cuban university systems and understanding of best practices on matters of program development and delivery, student support, and health and safety for education abroad programs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Fiscal management experience, computer literacy, and the ability to function without day-to-day supervision are essential. This position requires a minimum three years academic and/or administrative experience. Previous experience managing or working with study abroad programs is a plus. Depending upon qualifications and experience, the responsibilities of this position may include teaching upon request.|
