NoRedInk is hiring former English teachers and curriculum experts to join our curriculum team. As a Curriculum Specialist, you will craft engaging content and design interactive activities that help middle and high school students significantly improve the quality of their writing across all genres. While some of your work may be focused on our existing grammar activities, the vast majority of your time will be spent developing curriculum for our new writing assignments: Guided Drafts, Self Review, Peer Review, and others currently in development.   • Expand our writing and grammar curriculum, using your teaching and/or curriculum development expertise to break down complex skills and design interactive ELA activities
  • Create and edit high-quality, engaging content that models strong writing for our users
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure our new and existing features delight and empower students and teachers
  • Research the K-12 education system, becoming an expert on state and national standards and classroom models

About You

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience, 3 of which are in teaching, educational writing, or curriculum design. Ideally, you’ve taught middle or high school English and have previously created grammar or writing curriculum
  • Bonus points if you have developed online curriculum and/or other content at scale
  • You’re incredibly organized and tech-savvy, and you excel at creating systems to manage complex tasks
  • You have a passion and prowess for language; if you took the writing/grammar section of the SAT or ACT right now, you’d crush it
  • You’re a strong communicator and have the ability to tailor your message based on the needs and age of your audience
  • You approach problems creatively, always keeping students and teachers in mind
  • You’re hungry to make a difference in education, and bring passion, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial mindset to all your endeavors
  • You want to work at a startup as part of a dedicated and talented team that’s moving through uncharted territory
  • You’re based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to work remotely
